This company started a transformation program in 2016 in order to make an even better fit between the company and the changing world and needs of their customers.

This increases the demand for sharp and clear financial reports and analyses of the results, broken down to the different activities of the company.  

we are recruiting for a new colleague that can support the transformation by creating that transparency and likes to build bridges.

Total controlling department (10 FTE)   is  divided in 3 sub areas:

  • Financial controlling (internal/external reporting, Forecast/Actuals reporting)
  • Business controlling Offer Management (Sales & Income, Buying/Category management)
  • Business controlling Operations (Sales Channels, stores/delivery/e-commerce, store operations)

Responsibilities and Main Tasks

As Financial Controller you act as a business analyst who is responsible for providing accurate, timely and reliable data to support the management for their decision making process.

  • Supporting the management for the purpose of measuring its own performance, including planning and measuring the financial activities in order to realize the short-term and (medium) long-term objectives
  • Identify the need for IT solutions / reporting tools and implement these 
  • Carrying out financial analyses, checking the current performance and proposing actions for improving the business result (P&L / Balance / Cash-flow)
  • Budgets, forecasts and actuals reporting (standard and non-standard reports and presentations) in a timely and accurate way where deadlines are kept
  • Standardization and optimization of financial processes and procedures

Functional Requirements

  • Completed education in business economics / business administration at university level;
  • In addition, at least 3 - 5 years of relevant (preferably at international companies) work experience in a similar function
  • Preferable experience in retail/wholesale
  • Good communicative and advice skills at different levels, as well as excellent command of the English language
  • (Excellent) knowledge and experience with Excel, Access, Data Warehouse, SQL, TM1 and ERP (SAP) systems
  • Competencies: excellent analytical capacities, helicopter view, result-oriented, strong planning and organizing skills, accurate, commercial affinity, proactive and ambitious
