Position outline

Report to:                   Board

Supervision of:            6 direct reports (total 15 FTE).

Liaises with:                Multiple stakeholders on board, MT and sub level, internal and external

The organization

The Volkswagen Pon Financial Services (VWPFS) group consists of DFM , Volkswagen Bank , Volkswagen Leasing, DutchLease , Easy Rent and MAN Finance . Together they cover the entire chain from finance , insurance and leasing for car dealers , fleet owners, small and medium business and individuals.

VWPFS is looking for a dynamic Director Business Control & Procurement management.

In this role your will  be responsible for realizing the organization’s short and long term on Business Control, Procurement, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Knowledge Center Leasing (KCL) objectives, providing the best possible support for realizing the VWPFS commercial objectives by translating the strategic policy into operational policies and implement and execute these policies within the established policy and frameworks of the Dutch market, FS regulations as well as the SLAs concluded with the various Back office do-mains. Supporting the accounting objectives on MT level.

As Director Business Control & Procurement management you will be part of the Management team. The Management team reports directly to the Board of Directors (4).

You will support the Board, MT and business in taking the right decisions based on meaningful and correct business and financial information in conformity with the requirements of the group and FS.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to create a high performance and high engagement working climate and an optimal qualitatively and quantitatively effective and efficient staffing within the Controlling department and the company as a total from a MT responsibility. You can provide direction, are keen on delivering results, develop yourself and others and engage both your own team as the MT of which you are part of.

Responsibilities and Main Tasks

  • Translate the strategy into a vision and policies in Control, Procurement and M&A.
  • Translates policies into a joint annual plan, a department plan and individual or team objectives.
  • Support the manager Accounting in translating the strategy in policies.
  • Jointly responsible for change management in the own area of responsibility and the total of VWPFS with a leading role in (project) steering committees.
  • Run the total planning and control cycle in order to be able to provide the organization and the shareholders with the right financial planning and reports at all times.       
  • Ensure and advice management on financial and business information, identify  potential risks and complications with the objective of improving company performance.
  • Ensure reliable management, financial and business information on take overs, analyze the information, advice  and define advice with the M&A team with the objective to realize growth. Supports in taking decisions and act as leading party in stakeholder management in this complex processes setting new standards.
  • Inform the VWPFS organization about relevant developments, support the business on procurement topics and processes. Make sure new are implemented completely, correct and in time.
  • Support the organization in research & analysis on car leasing and the basic components for Leasing[1] in order to steer and advice the organization on correct information representing the residual value committee.
  • Detects possibilities to improve work processes, tools and reports, delivers proposals and implements after approval.
  • Maintain and develop contact with relations and stakeholders in- and outside of VWPFS.
  • Lead and coach employees within the Finance Department. Coach other MT members and board members from a business control  perspective during the P&C cycle.    

Functional Requirements

  • University degree
  • Relevant experience (ten years +), including at least three years functional and managerial experience in business control
  • Strategic and long term vision
  • Able to lead and engage employees by developing the team provide direction and share responsibilities
  • Result driven, senior approach and appearance, be decisive, strong execution power
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Relevant and current experience (IFRS, Basel III, AFM & ECB) in a company within the field of leasing, banking & insurance (financial services) is preferred
